What Iām making
Itās finally happened after a year in the making. The audiobook I produced is now available for everyone to hear! Kill the Rich is a political satire-thriller where you follow a government official, an exiled influencer, and a burned-out delivery driver living through a culture-obsessed presidency that signs the policy to āKill the Rich.ā
The year is 2038 and Americaās new President won with a simple, snappy campaign slogan: āKill the Rich.ā Now in office, his administration kicks off with a televised public hanging of Kim Kardashian, whose lip kits have poisoned a working-class city.
Not only did I produce this audio book, I also read a handful of the chapters alongside authors
and , as well as comic and actor Alana Johnston.Listen to the first chapter:
What Iām watching
This week, I watched the RoboCop remake from 2014. As Iāve noted in previous issues, my buddy Bill and I are working on a whole season of our podcast dedicated to RoboCop. You can start listening now at BillandRobs.com.
Weāve got a few more weeks before the RoboCop remake episode is public, but Iāll give you a sneak peek of my thoughts. The film is fun, but hollow ā and it was and is hard for audiences to trust remakes these days because itās usually done in order to retain rights and ownership of characters. I donāt think the best art is made when itās for a business deal, but hell, a lot of āoutsiderā artists made a ton of money with NFTs before we all caught on that it was a huge scam. All that said, RoboCop (2014) is fun, but itās not the best RoboCop film.
What Iām listening to
In honor of Taylor Swiftās double album The Tortured Poets Department, hereās a list of other double albums that I think about from time to time. I think the interesting thing about double albums is how many tracks people eventually end up actually listening to over and over again. Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails said his famous double album The Fragile needed one more edit phase. That said, weāll start with it.
